: intersection of two bodies

the meaning of the term INTERSECTION is that two given bodies - combine and turn into  o n e  solid   body .

the two seperate bodies connect to each other - and turn into one solid body.

- usually , we are given two complete views of the connected bodies and we have to complete the third view.
- on this page, the incomplete part in the side view is the part where the bodies connect to each other .

here , we have to complete the missing parts of the side-view of the two connected bodies .

- sometimes we are given only two views and we are asked to draw the complete third view of the two connected bodies :

here we have to draw the whole missing side-view .

- in the situation we face here , the horizontal body connects to one of the edges of the vertical body , and to two of its sufaces too .

- in the solution we treat the two bodies as if they are transparent and therefore we must show in the missing view how the body connects to the other body to both surfaces - to the one which we see , and also how it connects to the hidden surface .
